Currently, we offer two types of memberships - Organizational Representatives and Community Representatives. As the name suggests, Organization Representatives represent a specific organization that they are affiliated with. This could be a civic organization, business association, school, church, etc. A Community Representative is someone who is generally active in their community but does not represent a specific organization.
The Council is comprised of community leaders and police officials who work together to promote a positive relationship between the police District and the community it serves.
For those representing an organization, your application will be reviewed and if is determined that your organization qualifies for membership your organization will be invoiced for our annual dues in the amount of $25.00. Please note that the only form of payment that we can accept is a check from the organization being represented. Any other form of payment (personal check, money order, cash) will be returned and the application denied.
For those representing the community, your application will be reviewed by our membership committee and we will follow up with you, possibly requesting to meet with you personally prior to making a decision.
If you would be interested in joining with us for the betterment of our community, please click the appropriate link below (Organizational Representative or Community Representative) to fill out a membership application.
All members of the P.D.A.C. are expected to work cooperatively with the Police Department to address issues of crime and disorder as well as quality of life in the District. Generally, the P.D.A.C. meets once per month. All members are expected to lend their talents, skills and expertise in contributing to the successful operation of the P.D.A.C. Membership in the P.D.A.C. requires a criminal record check of the applicant. By filing an application, you agree to abide by the by-laws and operational procedures of the P.D.A.C. and authorize the Philadelphia Police Department to perform a check of your criminal history.
Please note that upon being accepted as a member by the Executive Board, all members are subject to confirmation by the General Membership after attending three meetings. The decision of the General Membership is final. Members deemed as not meeting our activity requirements may be dismissed at any time. The Executive Board and/or the Commanding Officer may also dismiss a member for cause at any time.
